Charlotte Olympia: The New Goddess of Designer Heels

Charlotte Olympia,  a half-british/half-brazilian and a sister of the model and it-girl Alice Della, graduated from the prestigious London College of Fashion in 2004.  Cordwainers College is known as the world’s leading school of footwear design proud of famous graduates like Jimmy Choo or Beatrix Ong.  After her graduation Charlotte Olympia started working for two of the most well-known fashion brands: Ungaro and Giambattista Valli.  But it was not until 2007 that she decided to finally set up her own shoe label based in London,  where she opened the first store in 2010. Since then designs of Charlotte Olympia became more and more popular and loved by fashion insiders thanks to several collaborations with top designers for their catwalk shows.
Charlotte Olympia finds inspiration in glamor and allure of the 40’s and 50’s movie stars.  High platforms also come from retro-glam and pin-up influence.  This philosophy of the brand is focused on femeninity and creation of classic shapes with a tongue-and-cheek twist.  The shoes are made in Italy from highest quality materials and they are all marked with the label’s signature logo on the sole: a golden spider web.  According to the designer, a woman who wears Charlotte Olympia shoes is “someone who dresses from the feet up!”
